Priyanshi Dixit, a daughter of the city, delivered an outstanding bowling performance at a cricket tournament held in Sri Lanka. The Indian women's deaf cricket team put up a brilliant display in the Women's T20 Deaf Series 2026, winning all their matches. Kanpur's 20-year-old Priyanshi played a pivotal role in this victory. District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh honored her with a cricket kit in recognition of her achievement of taking six wickets across four matches.
